This policy explains what information [Company legal name] ("Split Banana", "we", "us") handles when you use our apps and this website, why, and the choices you have. It applies to all of our apps. Each app also has its own section at the end that lists exactly what that app uses.
At a glance
- No accounts. You never give us your name to use our apps.
- What you create in our apps, and your progress, stays on your device.
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- Ads appear only in free apps that say so. Where the law requires it, we ask before showing personalised ads.
- Payments are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details.
1. Who we are
[Company legal name] makes the apps listed on this website and is responsible for your information as described here (under European and UK law, we are the "data controller").
[Company legal name][Registered address, city, postcode, country]
privacy@example.com
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers our mobile apps and this website:
- little hush (iPhone and Android)
- Linkwords (iPhone and Android)
- This website, https://splitbanana.pages.dev
It doesn't cover the App Store, Google Play or other services we link to. They have their own privacy policies.
3. Information we collect
We try to collect as little as possible. Most of what our apps do happens entirely on your device.
Information that stays on your device
Our apps save things like your settings, favourites and anything you create in the app on your device, so they're there next time. We don't receive this information. It's removed when you delete the app. If your phone's own backup is turned on (iCloud or Google), it may be included in that backup, which is managed by Apple or Google, not by us.
Device permissions
Some features need a permission, such as the microphone or notifications. An app only asks when you first use that feature, and it tells you why. You can say no and keep using the rest of the app, and you can change your mind at any time in your phone's settings. Each app's section below lists the permissions it asks for and what happens with them.
Purchases
If you buy an upgrade or subscription, Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handles the payment. We never see your payment card or billing address. To unlock your purchase and restore it on your other devices, we use RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives:
- a random, anonymous ID created for your copy of the app (not linked to your name or email)
- your purchase history and the purchase receipt or token from Apple or Google
- basic technical details: app version, device operating system and version, store country, and IP address (used to provide the service and prevent fraud)
Ads
Some of our free apps show ads. When an app shows an ad, the ad provider receives information from your device so it can pick, show and measure the ad and prevent fraud. This can include your IP address, device type and settings, the app's name and version, how you interact with the ad, and, only if you allow it, your device's advertising identifier. Each app's section below says whether it shows ads and who provides them.
When you contact us
If you email us, including from "Send Feedback" or "Report a Bug" in an app, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. Emails started from an app also include the app version and whether you use iOS or Android, which you can see and delete before sending.
What we don't collect
- We don't ask you to create an account.
- We don't collect your precise location, contacts, photos or browsing history.
- Apps without ads never access your device's advertising ID (Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID). Apps with ads let their ad provider use it only as that app's section describes, and only if you allow it.
- We don't build profiles about you or combine your information with data from other companies.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- provide the app and its features, including unlocking and restoring purchases
- show ads in free apps that have them, and keep those ads free of fraud
- reply to your messages and fix problems you report
- prevent fraud and keep our apps and website secure
- meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
Legal bases (EU and UK): we process purchase information to perform our contract with you; support messages, security and fraud prevention on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving our apps; ads in free apps on the basis of our legitimate interest in funding them, and personalised ads only with your consent; and records we must keep to meet legal obligations. Where an app needs your consent for something, it asks first, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our apps. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What for | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution and in-app purchases (App Store) | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| App distribution and in-app purchases (Google Play) | policies.google.com/privacy | |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Confirming, managing and restoring purchases | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Google (AdMob) | Showing and measuring ads in free apps that have them | policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
| [Email provider, e.g. Google Workspace] | Receiving and replying to support email | See the provider's website |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting and securing this website | cloudflare.com/privacypolicy |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
6. Advertising and analytics
Whether an app shows ads depends on the app:
- little hush: no ads.
- Linkwords: free, and shows ads from Google AdMob.
Personalised ads. Personalised ads are chosen using information about your activity across other apps and websites. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, apps with ads ask for your consent before showing them, using Google's consent message. On iPhone, an app uses your advertising identifier only if you tap "Allow" when it asks to track you. Otherwise you'll see non-personalised ads, which use only basic information like the app you're in and your rough location (from your IP address).
Your choices. You can limit ad tracking for every app at once. On iPhone, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, go to Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some phones, Settings → Google → Ads) and delete or reset your advertising ID.
Our apps don't use third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools. If that changes, we'll update this policy and the app's section first.
7. Children
Our apps are made for adults and teens, and aren't directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. How long we keep it
- On your device: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- Purchase records (RevenueCat): as long as needed to provide your purchase and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- Support emails: until your request is resolved, then up to 2 years in case you get back in touch about the same issue.
- Ad data (Google): as described in Google's policy.
- Website logs (Cloudflare): for a short period, as described in Cloudflare's policy.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct or delete it
- object to or restrict how we use it
- receive it in a portable format
- withdraw consent you've given
- complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO; in the EU, the authority in your country)
US state privacy laws (including California): we don't sell personal information for money, and we don't use sensitive personal information to infer things about you. When a free app shows personalised ads, the information its ad provider receives may count as "sharing" for targeted advertising under some of these laws. You can opt out by limiting ad tracking on your device (see Advertising and analytics), or by emailing us. You have the right to know, delete and correct your information, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.
To make a request, email privacy@example.com. Because we don't have accounts, we may ask for something that lets us find your records, such as the anonymous ID or transaction ID shown on the app's purchase screen. We'll reply within 30 days.
10. Deleting your data
- Everything on your device: delete it inside the app, or delete the app. Also delete any device backups if you want those copies gone.
- Purchase records: email privacy@example.com with the app's name and, if you can, the ID shown on its purchase screen. We'll delete your records at RevenueCat, except what we must keep by law (for example, tax records). This doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account first.
- Support emails: ask us and we'll delete your messages.
11. Security
Information sent between our apps, our service providers, Apple and Google is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We limit who can access it, and we keep as little as we can. No system is perfectly secure, but keeping information on your device and collecting very little keeps the risk small.
12. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, these transfers are protected by safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK equivalent.
13. This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics, ads or embedded content from other companies. Its fonts and its one small script (for animations) are served from our own site. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, for example a new type of data or a new provider, we'll also let you know in the app or in its release notes before it takes effect.

App-specific details
Each app below follows this policy. Its section lists what it stores, the permissions it asks for, and the providers it uses.
little hush
Baby sleep sounds · iPhone and Android
little hush has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Every sound is made and played on your phone. Nothing you listen to or record is sent to us.
| Information | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Settings: timer, fade-out, volume, appearance, reminder times | Your device only | To remember your preferences |
| Favourites and the last sound you played | Your device only | So your sounds are ready next time |
| Your recordings (custom sounds) | Your device only | To play your own shush, hum or lullaby as a looping sound |
| What's playing and the time left, for widgets, lock screen controls and Live Activities | Your device only | To show and control playback outside the app |
| Anonymous ID, purchase history and receipt, basic technical details | RevenueCat, Apple or Google | To unlock and restore Hush Pro |
| Your email and message, if you contact us | Us, through our email provider | To reply and fix problems |
Permissions
- Microphone: only when you choose to record a custom sound. Audio is recorded and edited on your phone and saved on your phone. It is never uploaded. Deleting a custom sound deletes its recording. If you say no, everything else still works.
- Notifications: only if you turn on bedtime or nap reminders. They're scheduled on your phone. There's no push server, so we never know when they fire. They're held back while a sound is playing, so a phone in the nursery doesn't chime.
Deleting your little hush data
Delete a custom sound by holding its tile and choosing Delete, or delete the app to remove everything on your device. For purchase records, see Deleting your data.
Linkwords
Word puzzle · iPhone and Android
Linkwords has no accounts and no purchases. Puzzles are built and played on your phone, and your progress is saved there. It's free, and it shows ads from Google AdMob.
| Information | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your level, streak, best streak and levels solved, and whether you've seen "How to play" | Your device only | To pick up where you left off |
| Your result, when you tap Share | Only the app or person you choose, through your phone's share sheet | To share how you did. It never includes the answers, and we don't receive it |
| Ad requests: IP address, device and app details, ad interactions, and your advertising ID if you allow it | Google AdMob (Google) | To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud |
| Your email and message, if you contact us | Us, through our email provider | To reply and fix problems |
Ads in Linkwords
- Ads appear in a strip at the bottom of the screen and, sometimes, between levels.
- In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, Linkwords asks for your consent before showing personalised ads. On iPhone, it only uses your advertising identifier if you allow tracking when asked.
- Google's use of this information is covered by How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Permissions
Linkwords doesn't ask for any special permissions. It needs an internet connection only to load ads.
Deleting your Linkwords data
Delete the app to remove your progress. To reset the advertising identifier ad providers see, follow Your choices above.
